Development & Maintenance of an MLTF Prevention System
Context & Challenges
As regulatory requirements tighten, transaction volumes increase, and financial crime becomes increasingly sophisticated, financial institutions need more robust systems to prevent and detect money laundering, terrorist financing, and fraud (MLTF).
In this context, Soltain, a German software provider, engaged think tank to develop a dedicated solution for the prevention and detection of money laundering, terrorist financing, and fraud (MLTF).
Key challenges included:
- Growing financial crime risks: increasingly sophisticated money laundering and fraud techniques.
- Stronger compliance requirements: implementation of robust, documented, and traceable controls.
- High data volumes: analysis of large volumes of transaction and customer data.
- Proactive detection: rapid identification of high-risk transactions, customers, and profiles.
- Control automation: improving the reliability of risk analysis while reducing manual processing.
Solution & Contribution
think tank designed and developed an MLTF Prevention System, currently used by banks and financial institutions, primarily across Germany and Austria.
The solution enables financial institutions to detect, prevent, investigate, and report suspicious activities related to money laundering, terrorist financing, and fraud through automated analysis of transactions, customer profiles, and risk indicators.
